Arnett, Director Director's Notes: In a world where time is of greatest value, I am grateful that you have given us a moment to come together and share in this musical gathering. I would like to offer special thanks to Mr. Alan Patton whose dedication to the arts and persistence in keeping the arts alive in the small community of Zeigler, has given me a chance to give back to so many who poured their creative souls into me. Many of you know that I am a Zeigler native. I never dreamed that after earning two degrees in music and performing professionally across the U.S., that I would have a chance to do what I love so close to home. John A. Logan College is a wonderful place to work and I am thankful for the job I have been given and the trust and support I receive daily from my administrators, colleagues, and staff. To top it off, my wife has a wonderful opportunity to teach music in the school system that gave me my foundation. I would like to dedicate this tribute to four very special Zeiglerites. First to Mrs. Susan Summers, who told me I could sing and planted the seeds that spurred a musical career. Second to Mr. Carl Horn, who always showed interest in me and supported my musical endeavors no matter the quality of the performance. And finally, to my parents who are celebrating thirty one years of marriage tonight, who gave me the freedom and support to pursue my dreams. View the SunSet Series II (2004) Show Schedule here.
