"THE IRON-MAN IS GONE"

In the first chapters of the Bible, it is written of when God spoke to the past, the present, and the future, he said "let's make man in our own image." The mold was made and man was created to be productive and strong, and to possess the love for his fellow man. Well!...The man I knew and respected so much was such the man. He was the man whom, I thought was made of steel! He was the man whom I thought was indestructible! And he was the man whom I thought could live and defeat anything, and most of all, he was my friend. I called him "Pa"not because of his age, but because he allowed me to feel that I was always closer to him that just being a friend. I became acquainted with Leroy Mills about seven years ago, and it didn't take me long to realize that this was a special person, and in him I found a friendly and witty person who was unselfish and kind. I have met and known legions of people in my lifetime, but few ever measured up to the respect and adoration that I had for this man. I believe the world was made a better place when Leroy was given his place in it, and given the chance to walk through it. I believe he made a difference in the lives of the people whom he knew, and to those who knew him, and if God has a place set aside in heaven just for people who are honorable, respected, and willing to help others, then I'm sure Leroy is at home today. So with his passing, the torch will be passed to his wife Vera and his three children, Jerry, John, and Susan, and it will be their duty to keep his memory alive. So children, hold up your head and always be proud that he was your father, as I will always be proud that he considered me as one of his friends...
